I once made a welcome aboard PA on a flight to Las Vegas making that exact same sentiment… with my chief pilot on board… who lived in LAS… sitting in 1D staring at me while I said it…

But Phil is Phil and we laughed along with the rest of the passengers because he knows I live in Phoenix which is also on the “WTF humanity, why here?” list.
