Position Description


Provides flight operations, safety and technical support to Boeing internal and external customers at multiple levels. Maintains qualification as a Boeing Captain on at least one aircraft model. Provides information and specialized technical services to Company and customer flight crews to enhance flight operation efficiency. Supports new aircraft and system development and certification efforts. Develops and validates procedures and operating techniques and assists Technical Pilots with cross-model procedures. Consults with cross-functional teams during accident investigations and analysis. Researches, edits, documents and coordinates publication of procedures and techniques for operating Boeing aircraft. Represents Boeing as a safety pilot by authoring and presenting professional papers at worldwide safety and flight operational forums. May meet with regulatory agencies at the executive level. Supports sales campaigns by discussing and demonstrating aircraft and new flight technology. Serves as a consultant to senior management and other industry professionals. Job requires FAA ATP certificate or international equivalent with the appropriate endorsements. Works under minimal direction. This position reports to the Chief Pilot, Flight Technical and Safety.

Basic Qualifications For Consideration

Do you have 3000 hours total airplane flight time?

Do you have experience flying transport category aircraft in the last five years?

Do you possess a FAA Airline Transport Pilot license or international equivalent with the appropriate endorsements?

Do you have safety and/or accident investigation experience?



Typical Education/Experience


Level 3 - Technical bachelor’s degree and typically 5 or more years’ related work experience or a Master’s degree with typically 3 or more years’ or a PhD degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A technical degree is defined as any four year degree, or greater, in a mathematic, scientific or information technology field of study.

Level 4 - Technical bachelor’s degree and typically 9 or more years’ related work experience or a Master’s degree with typically 7 or more years’ or a PhD degree with typically 4 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A technical degree is defined as any four year degree, or greater, in a mathematic, scientific or information technology field of study.






Other Job related information


Work experience must include significant safety and accident investigation experience. Highly desirable to have extensive experience in domestic and international airline operations. Instructor and/or check pilot experience on Boeing and/or Douglas aircraft also valued. Good writing and presentation skills required. Maintains qualification as a Boeing pilot on at least one airplane model. Position requires some travel, some of which may be short notice.
