Sacramento Questions: Apartments, Diversity, Etc.

Hi everyone. I'm thinking of going to the SAC location for the airline career program and I have a few questions.

1. What is the living situation like? Are there pics of the rooms online? How many people typically share an apartment? Is it crowded?

2. I'm gay. I don't bring this up to throw it in people's faces or anything, and in fact it might never even come up at ATP, but if I'm going to spend this kind of cash I want to be sure I'll be on equal footing with everyone else. I hesiatate to even bring it up, but I'm wondering how professional the administration, instructors, students, etc. are when it comes to things like this. I'd hate to have someone make my life tough (pass me up for instructor slots, etc.) just because they found out I'm gay. Does anybody know any gay instructors or employees?

3. Is a car necessary in SAC? Are there things to do (movies, etc.) within walking distance?

I know this is a lot. I appreciate your advice. The more honest the better!

The apartments are nice, and well appointed, just like at every other ATP apartment I went to on my x-c phase.
Unfortunately I didn't take photos or I could send you one.
While I was there we only had a max of two per two bedroom full time. It seems SAC is getting busy so you could have up to four in a two bedroom. The most I have seen is three full time students.

At ATP, my experience is that the only people who have problems are those who don't work hard or refuse to show acceptance and respect for all of the pilots who are working towards their goal. The instructors just want students to work hard and give their all. As far as hiring, I really have no idea how that works. That decision is made in Jacksonville. I do know that professional people with professional attitudes will be the ones employed. I have found that to be the case with the instructors working at ATP.

You want to have a car in Sacramento. In order to go to a movie or downtown you will need wheels. To get to the
airport is a short bikeride, but it will be hot by the end of June.

good luck!
