Sabre CrewTrac and non-IE browser?

SpiraMirabilis

Possible Subversive
Has anyone been able to get Sabre CrewTrac to work with a browser other than IE? I don't run Windows so its kind of a pain to use CrewTrac to view my schedule/etc.

Ive tried basically every other browser also -- Opera, Firefox, Safari, Konqueror, etc. Nothing works completely.

This is something I've been thinking of for quite a few months -- and realized maybe someone already had a solution?

Doesn't it say in big letters IE 6.0 or better only?

That said, there is a plug in for FireFox that lets you run an IE tab within the browser. I don't know if it works on a Mac though.

No, it doesn't actually say that (on the main page anyway) -- but even if it did many companies will say "Only Support Windows XP/Vista" when in fact it can be finnangled to work with other operating systems.

I use Linux, not Mac. But I tried Safari on a friends macbook and it didnt work there either.

Right now what I have to do use use Citrix to login to the company's server, which then can launch a IE window and then login. But that is a real pain.

I have the mac solution at home.. When I get home I'll post the links. My iPhone didn't sync all my bookmarks...

Tell me more tell me more. (Cue Grease soundtrack)

OK here ya go.... This is an emulator and works with MAC both leopard (newer) and Tiger. First download darwine and install, then install the ie file. Links are below. To right click its control/click at the same time. Everything works 100% for me. If you use a windows mouse on your mac (I just love my ball mouse) the right click on the mouse works as right click...

Enjoy! I am still working on trying to figure out how to get the iPhone to show everything from crewtrac...

IE Tab works for CrewTrac, but for some reason our PBS software HAS to have Internet Exploder. You just get an error if you run it in IE Tab, but if you use IE itself, it's fine.

Yeah, I decided to try something different last night, and it worked. Instead of right clicking the icon at the bottom of the company page and selected "open in IE Tab," I just clicked the icon on the tool bar at the bottom to switch it from Firefox to IE, then clicked the icon. Viola, works now.

There is that FO skill that I thought you lost.... problem solving!:nana2:
FWIW it took me a little while to figure it out but last night I didn't remember what I did so I couldn't tell ya:crazy:.

Dudes, the Awesomebar in FF3 is totally unawesome. I'm already using OldBar, but that doesn't quite do what I'm looking for, I might go back to FF2.

I switched to FF3 and within an hour my motherboard had shorted out and smoke was coming from between the keys. I think it was just happenstance, but still... I wasn't too impressed with it.

There's a FF3? Shows ya how much FF2 needs updating seeing as I didn't even know there was another one out. Luckily, it also looks like ignorance is bliss.

Gaming + Porn + Death Metal running on Media Monkey (all at the same time) = Melted Motherboard :)
