MOSCOW, Russia (CNN) -- A Russian plane crashed in the Donetsk region of eastern Ukraine Tuesday afternoon, according to the news agency Interfax, quoting the Ukrainian Emergencies Ministry.
Russia's state-run RIA Novosti reported wreckage has been found in Ukraine.
Interfax said the TU-154 aircraft had about 170 people on board when it crashed about 3:25 p.m. It was en route from the Black Sea resort town of Anapa to St. Petersburg.
