Guam.

Well, that's what the rumor is and if you look at the operation, it's not entirely unfeasible.

Discuss, discuss.

It just does not make any sense to me because of CAL Mic. Unless CAL is WAY under-utilizing the base. Just does not seem like there would be enough traffic for two airlines.

I already told my wife that if there is a displacement, we need to start packing.

I thought Continental use Guam base for Tokyo, Hong Kong that sort of ruotes.

Just in case you have never experienced Typhoon or hurricane(East pacific and west Atlantic called), bring your life jacket. :D

Used to be a Delta North DC-10 base. Guam is fun for the first two weeks then it goes downhill on the fun meter!:banghead: Of course it's still 100 times better than Diego Garcia!:dunno:

Incorrecto. It was a 727 base for a few years. The whales and DC-10s were in HNL.

One rumor is that it's a CAL Mike sale. From what I heard, CAL Mike is entirely separate operation from CAL, down to the aircraft and employees. Only the pilots are on the common list. It'd be easy to spin off it if this was the case.

OTOH, the new DAL has the muscle and seems to have the moxie to do the brute force thing. With the feed from NRT, KIX and NGO, they could force feed GUM, then points south. But CAL Mike has been entrenched for years and years...it'd be a toughie.

If DAL pulls it off, it'd link the north and south pacific into something interesting....

Lotsa other rumors perking about...
