Right Seat - Pax Charter

I'm in the early stages of planning my next move in aviation and am thinking that flying right seat for a charter company would be a good next step. I am currently at 1700/90, and only getting day VFR right now. I have a good job right now, so I want to make sure I am moving for the right opportunity.

My wife and I enjoy moving to different parts of the country, so anywhere is an option right now. Who are some of the charter operators that hire into the right seat with my times?

Thanks

Start pumping out resumes. Enough bait, and you end up with a nibble. Appetite makes the best gravy and all that.

No ATP. I'm short on night, and do not get any at my current job. I'm trying to find time to study for the written, and I think that will make my app. stand out a little more.

Honestly if you're looking for a good job, even in the right seat, you're going to have to get a lot more experience. I couldn't even get anyone an interview for a right seat with us, in a 10,000lb single pilot turboprop without a crap ton more multi, night, and especially IFR. Oh and the ATP is beyond a requirement.

All charter is different. I've seen single pilot King Air pilot with barely IFR 135. Mins.

That's probably what I'll do once I finish up the ATP written. I figure with that taken care of, and some phone calls and resumes, I might get a bite.

Thanks!

What are you hoping for exactly? any sort of 135 operation so long as it is in the US and it is pax?

Do your research and target specific companies you'd like to work for. I tend to want to toss resumes when it is obvious that they are generic. For example, someone walks in a resume and says that they are looking for a right seat job even though we don't use copilots. Be sure the companies you are applying to indeed have the job you are applying for. People who do the hiring like it when an applicant has done their homework.

Good suggestion. To the OP - you may find that there are more freight companies who use entry level copilots than there are PAX charter companies with entry level copilots.
Can you name some of these companies?

I'd be interested to hear of some that are actually hiring.
