I'm in training (just passed indoc & systems ground school) at a small airline (we have currently about 55 FOs and about as many CAs) and almost every other day I walk in I have some kind of revision or CIF. I know know what Doug was talking about ... damn there is a lot of paperwork!

Ahh! Starting to see what I mean when I said that being a professional pilot isn't just slapping on a seat of epaulets and a clip on tie and strapping into the airplane! :)

Updates, revisions, deletions, bidding, bulletins, MEL's, CDL's, checklists, writeups, ACARS, position reports, engine monitor reports, etc... It's a busy job.

We are through Jeps Revision 25 here, which if you think about it, should be through the end of November, not the beginning of October. Oh well.

In other annoying news, my domicile went from 9 reserve lines this month to 32 next month. Grrr.

*edit for lack of spelling*

BobdDuck, I htink our Jepps are on 22 or 23.

I was just looking through the current bid for this upcoming month and we dont have any pure reserve lines. At most one or two of your "normal" work days are reserve the other days you're flying. Cool thing is, htough, about 60% of our lines are four on, three off.

And Doug yeah a lot of stuff to keep track of. Andwe only have 14 Otters and about 100 pilots. Can't imagine what it's like at your place.

Oh yes, this thread makes me yearn for work. Two 2" Jepp binders, which are both overflowing, and another full 1" Jepp binder. Then we have a packaged Jepp binder behind our seats with "other" alternates, not often used.

Not sure how they do it at Doug's airline, but at mainline Continental they give you Jepp revisions based on seat and type. For instance, when Rev 20 comes out, there is a revision for B737 FOs, B737 CAs, B777 CAs, etc.

They're aircraft specific.

But yup, I've got two 2" binders ready to burst at the seams and another 1" with non approach sections of the airway manual.

Then we keep 'the brick' with offline diversionary airports in the bin behind the seats.

Ours is a whopping 1" binder, half filled - and that's including the intro and enroute stuff. But then our op specs only has like 20 or 30 "authorized" airports (thats including the provisionals, refueling etc.).

We are going to electronic flight bags in the next few months. Current plans are for us to stop having to carry our Jepps by the end of January. I don't think I'll miss the revisions, nor the weight of carrying around charts for all our airports worldwide!

Mainline is supposed to go to the EB sometime after the first of the year now that they are out of BK. Apparently if it goes well we will follow them 6 months later. Here's hopeing. We have a 4 inch (ouch) binder and then a 2 inch binder.

We have somewhere between 10 & 12 2" binders in each plane (only 2 planes)...and about another 5 or so in the office which hold the Canadian and Caribbean charts along with the FAR/AIM. NOS charts weren't that bad now that I think of it....
