Resume Question

Alright, so I have a resume, but I don't think it's all that good. I look at it and I just feel let down. Now maybe that's just my low self esteem, but I really do think it is lacking.

I'm not planning on leaving my current job for a long time, but I don't want to get caught in a situation where I have to make up a resume on the spot (oh forgot to tell you the laptop it was on took a poo poo). I would like to have ample time to polish it and make it good.

This is where the helpful people at JC come in. I was wondering if anyone would be willing to post some templates of their resume. Nothing personal required. Just the form and maybe offer some tips on resume building.

Wasn't sure where to put this, but since I am a CFI and any resumes I send out would be to flight schools...this seemed like the appropriate place.

I really do think it is lacking.

What kind of resume? Most people have a hard time tooting their own horns, but that's what a resume is for. Have someone who knows you well describe your accomplishments and then put them down in resume lingo.

Honestly the resume isn't hard to make, just write down some numbers, that's all they are looking for. Spend time on the cover letter. The cover letter makes you sound like a massive tool....if its done right

Just write your time down so it looks purdy, spend time on the cover letter. The cover will make you feel like a massive tool after you read it....if its done right

Does a resume look better if it's only one page?

Does anyone on here mind sharing a cover letter? I don't really know how to put a good one together... :(

3 paragraphs:

P1: include the position applying for (reason why objective is unnecessary on most resumes); who referred you (internal is best)

P2: strengths and accomplishments which demonstrate why you are the one they want to hire. possibly brief summary of some resume bullets

P3: closing, thank you, and followup; ie: " I will contact you thursday to discuss when I can start." :)

I'll see if I can dig something up.

These are from a few years back, but they might help.

I removed the company name for the cover letter, but it would be the standard letter writing format.

If the jpgs arent viewable, I will post pdfs
