Resume Q?

I have a resume problem that probably just costed me a opportunity at a job. Wasn't trying to be dishonest but I understand where the interviewer is coming from. I just want to run some wording by you guys and tell me what you think. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated to save myself from any future problems.

I've failed two check rides, my CFI-A initial twice. This is how I've been putting it on my job app.

This is how I had it:

before said:
I failed my CFI-A initial check ride on both change in category endorsements and ground reference maneuvers.

This is now how I have it:

after said:
I failed my CFI-A initial check ride on a change in category endorsement. I also failed the re-check on ground reference maneuvers. I have two total check ride failures.

English is my second language, hillbilly is first so if you have any suggestions on the wording go ahead. I just want to make sure that no confusion comes from this again.
 
Why even put it on your resume?? Let them call you in so you can explain it in person.

Normally, that's something that will be on an employment application with a box that says "Explain." You can leave it off a resume, and I wouldn't expect any problems.

I guess I titled this wrong. This was not on my resume, it was on the application. I'm just looking for the most clear and concise wording that I should put on my application.

"I've failed two check rides, my CFI-A initial twice." This is how you worded it for us; clear and concise and none of us are confused. I think you answered your own question. Throw in a more detailed sentence after that one if you want, but what you say here gets the point across.
 
Truth be told, could you actually simply say CFI-A and leave it at that? If they ask why you can say Endorsements and Ground Reference maneuvers.

I'm not trying to be misleading, but the way I look at it (if this is how it happened anyway) is you probably didn't even have a chance to attempt ground ref the first time if you unsat on endorsements. Thus, if you would have continued you would have either 1) done them just fine or 2) boned them up and still would have only one failed checkride.

Its getting into technicalities, but in my opinion still telling the truth. The resume and application are simply an attempt to get an audience to further sell your case. Tell the truth, but don't give more possibly negative information than you have to. Save that for the interview when you can be up front and talk about what you learned from it and how its made you a better pilot/person.
