Republic Merger

From a dispatch career perspective, this would mean one fewer airline to begin a career with and it further reduces the geographic options for where a newbie can work. This is in a career field thats over the last decade seen a decent reduction in airlines and cities with ops centers.

Every airline has at least some locals and lifers so it will mean some attrition at Mesa for those not moving or commuting to IND. That can open up jobs when if/when the move does happen.

12 dispatchers, 5 coordinators and 4 duty managers

Good carrier, republic. Wish I started with them in my career back when I was 23. Exciting times for the company. To those currently there, you'll have to let us know what changes dispatch-wise come with it

Possibly two fewer airlines to begin a career with. Republic has their own in-house certification/apprentice program where I think they've gotten most of their new Dispatchers from because they require a 2 year commit. I don't know if they're going to hire off the street anymore. Most recently they have not.
