Republic and Mesa are merging and keeping the Republic name. Email came directly from the outgoing CEO
12 dispatchers, 5 coordinators and 4 duty managersFrom a dispatch career perspective, this would mean one fewer airline to begin a career with and it further reduces the geographic options for where a newbie can work. This is in a career field thats over the last decade seen a decent reduction in airlines and cities with ops centers.
Every airline has at least some locals and lifers so it will mean some attrition at Mesa for those not moving or commuting to IND. That can open up jobs when if/when the move does happen.

Some of those are good people.12 dispatchers, 5 coordinators and 4 duty managers
No idea how mergers go with a non-union group and a union group. Hopefully they get to keep their seniority...Some of those are good people.
Sorry to see this...but union life at Republic will br a lot nicer to them.

Possibly two fewer airlines to begin a career with. Republic has their own in-house certification/apprentice program where I think they've gotten most of their new Dispatchers from because they require a 2 year commit. I don't know if they're going to hire off the street anymore. Most recently they have not. From a dispatch career perspective, this would mean one fewer airline to begin a career with and it further reduces the geographic options for where a newbie can work. Where did you get these numbers from?12 dispatchers, 5 coordinators and 4 duty managers
It's also a congressional requirement under the FAA Reauthorization act passed early 2024.Let's hope the FAA mandates dispatchers for 135 ops as per the NTSB's recommendation. Otherwise this career is looking pretty bleak in regards to workplace options and for noobs.
