Remote Pilot/Ghost Pilot

Hey guys, what exactly does the remote pilot do? Is it a point and click simulation or do you actually "fly" the simulated aircraft?.....I think the AG's at my facility do RPO work before starting OJT.

I know that Raytheon is hiring for Ghost Pilot programs. Pretty sure you need a high school diploma. I'm no "waiting for OKC" specialist, but if I was earlier on in this process I would be looking into this stuff.

I found out about it and contacted a guy at ZFW who runs the program there. He said they are definitely hiring and to check out the Raytheon website. I wouldn't really qualify because I could be sent to OKC any day and they won't want to waste training on people that might be leaving any minute.

Big time recommendation though, if you are just starting out(the ATSAT and gotten an 85 type of deal) this is something you might want to check out. Unless they work out kinks, secure funding, pull their heads out of their asses, people from Pubnats 7&8 definitely have some waiting to do.

Hope this helps someone. It sounded like a terrific opportunity that I wish I'd heard about a year ago.

P.S. No, I will not give out my contacts information. There is no point since you will need to jump through hoops for Raytheon before any hiring can be done anyway.

Actually Raytheon is in a hiring freeze right now until they can work out the contract kinks with the FAA.
