Recurrent...(Kind of)

Yuck, I've got to go get "re-certified" today with the U.S Ag. department, EPA, and all of the rest of the agency's that control what I do except for the F.A.A. Sit in the big room and listen to the same ol stuff that I've listened to since 1978. YUCK!! Good thing is I'll be good to go afterwards for another year.

Gotta get the BFR done before too long.

Just thought I'd share my day with you.

Ya'll have a great day!

I need to do 3 landings and 0.8 hours for an insurance company when I get back. 'Cause really, without those extra 0.8, I'm dangerous.

It's funny how everybody is different. A lot of people don't really require the currency "3", but some need more than that. I know that my landings are more consistent when I fly consistently, but since I obtained my private, I've had no problem after long stints with no flying. This last one has been the longest in 10 years. I was out of the cockpit for 11 months and out of single engine for 3 1/2 years. I swear it was like I stepped out of my old 152 the day before. When I got checked out, the only things I wanted to retry were power off stalls and power off approach. Both were within standards, but I'm a perfectionist and don't mind doing things over and over. It's like crack, man. I only flew that one day last August and ever since, I've been jonesing for another hit. Hopefully, my recurrent will go as well when I go back this winter.

I've got 50+ landings in the last 90 days, not currency so much as insurance minimums. And I am scraping the absolute minimums for flying a towplane.

I remember those days...

Boring more than informative... especially when things your company has been doing for years is just now being implemented by local districts.

Only thing good that ever came out of our "recurrent" was we got about a week long company paid vacation in southern Florida. :D

I swear... we accomplished more after the meeting sitting at the bar drinking than we ever did at the meetings!:beer:
