HNL

Midwest:
MKE

Frontier:
DEN

Feel free to add if I forgot any...

So this is new Frontier flying? Are they replacing the A320? What's the deal?

No just putting the right planes on the right routes. They are moving 5 320s to MKE to operate some of the heavier longer routes and putting the 190s on some of the routes that don't need a 320 out of DEN.

Wonder if this has to do with the airways gate purchase from DL in LGA.

Many are saying in GSO that the flights will disappear to LGA completely, unless a bigger airplane picks up the route.

Wonder if the 170 is that plane.

Right now, its just Air Wisc, and CHQ doing the LGA flights.

Plus PDT and Colgan out of LGA.

When Republic buys Delta from their soon-to-be bankruptcy can one of you nice republic guys reserve me a FO slot outa MEM please?

I would not be surprised if RAH tries to do some Midwest flying into CLT. Since they cannot have direct competition with DAL/USairways they cannot fly midwest planes or frontier into ATL/CLT. But GSO would be an option ;)! Now that's highly unlikely but I would not put it past BB to do something like that. Draw some of the NC paxs onto Midwest/Frontier out of GSO.

Yeah that sounds like a great plan. Then they could charge $9 for tickets. GSO sounds like a great place to make money.

They can, and they do

Right. That's the first I've heard on the whole "no direct competition" thing. Are they planning on pulling Frontier out of MCO? 'Cause I'd say that's a major Delta market. They had the most number of flights in MCO when I was there back in 2004. SWA was #2. Frontier flies into DTW, too.

If its like USairways, they cannot fly on any of the same routes.... So with USairways they are going to no longer be able to serve cities like PHL-MKE, LAS-DEN, MKE-PHX, etc etc.... From the sounds of it, it would appear the others have the same wording in their contracts. But I can only speak for USairways for sure as Doug Parker has spoken directly on the issue. Now we will wait and see when and if they actually stop doing these routes. And if they do not stop doing these routes, it'll be interesting to see what the ramification will be.

However Frontier flies into some smaller markets such as CAK/DAY instead of CLE/CVG for example. So it would not SHOCK me to see them fly into a city like GSO instead of CLT (80 miles apart if that) and serve that part of the country...... BB is a master of getting around scope by all his certificates, scope by saying one seat isnt usable in the E190 and thus no different pay rate etc... He's a master of that, and it would not surprise me if he was thinking of such a thing here. Since its not in the contract, it would be allowed.... Likely? Doubtful, but it could happen.

i bet they move some stuff into pit, not much competition there for the routes airways cut that were full....

If the routes were truely that full, would Airways really have pulled out nearly all operations? For what its worth, the PHL, CLT, PHX, DCA, and LGA stuff was pretty heavy.... But some of the other small markets out of PIT were dead... PIT-IND and many more like those were terrible loss...

I know it doesnt sit too well, but USairways seems to be making the right moves... DCA increase, CLT, PHL and PHX bases and trimming those other focal cities that arent profitable due to rules such as LGA and the distance aircraft can travel out of there....
