RAA feedback

just looking to see if raa is any good and what you guys think in getting a degree on-line with Utah Valley state college, is it worth it?

I used to be very against RAA. Their entire program was focused on you getting your ratings at an absurd cost and then typing you in a CRJ (again, for an absurd cost) which does absolutely nothing for you at 250 hours. However, it seems like every other flight academy/school is doing the same thing these days, so I just don't know.

That said, I know their Florida op is better then their Arizona one (if it's even still around). I can't tell how many times I saw the fire trucks go chasing after on of their planes. Or I was cut off in the pattern by one of their planes. Or I was cut off in the practice area by one of their planes (not talking to anybody). Well, you get the point.

You know people only seem to know about these programs because of their huge ads in Flying and what not.

Has Jetcareers LLC ever thought about taking out an Ad in flying to counter these ads?

well i guess is no good, well i been doing alot of research and found another school which is not that expensive and after 2 years i would have at least 1000 hours with more than 100 hours of multi

no i wont pay for all, 1000 is after 12 months i'll be an instructor, and then biuld up my hours, but what i can say is not a facility where they charge 60k is half of that, and the other thing is that is 5 minutes away from my house

I've had the same "non-communication/ cut you off / make you wonder if anyone in their airplane is paying any attention to anything" problem with them in FL, so who knows if the operation here is that much better. Last I heard, they were going out of business here, too.

their ad rates are too high... can't afford it.

you don't need 1000 hrs to become an instructor.

I'm not even sure how you'd go about obtaining 1000 hrs in 12 months without paying buku bucks... i'd be researching a bit further on that IMO.

i have nothing positive to say about raa after flying in the same airspace as their students and living below a few of their morons whose instructors couldn't instruct a starving mouse to eat cheese

i know that right now they are with g stream nothing about raa , this is what they offer with g stream
YOUR FAST TRACK TO THE AIRLINE!! This program is designed to enable a zero time pilot to become the First Officer (F/O) for a Commuter Airline (Gulfstream International Airlines). After receiving your Commercial Multi-Engine License, you will transfer to Gulfstream in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida to continue your airline training. You will be trained to FAR Part 121 Airline Standards. FAR Part 121 Stardards are the Regulations all airline operate under (United, Delta, American, etc.). You will go through an intense ground school for approximately 4 weeks. You then move to the stationary simulator where you learn the aircraft profiles. Once completed you move into the full motion simulator where you complete your training and take the 121 flight test. You then complete the training in the Beech 1900D aircraft. Once completed, you take your place as the airlines first officer flying throughout Florida and the Bahamas. You are now FAR Part 121 Airline Trained. You then fly as their first officer for 250 hours and the airline has the option to keep you flying with them or terminate you. However, you now have 250 hours multi Turbo-Prop experience and 121 trained. You can obtain a job with many different airlines. It is easier to move to another 121 airline as you are 121 trained.

Do a forum search on Gulfstream Academy. You'll find many reasons not to touch them with a ten foot pole.

What does everyone think about RAA's transition course which is especially for pilot with at least 400 hours. It is setup with American Eagle and you must be hired by AE before starting the program.

I have 600TT with no CFI and looking for program that will give me additional sim and ground training before I apply for a regional job.
