As I have been chatting with my new friend Maximillian Jenius, he mentions his friend wanted to become a pilot but couldnt because he is a diabetic, is this ture if so does anyone know why? -thanks

Some types - yes. It is because they are more likely to pass out without warning - not very safe to go flying with.

I'm pretty sure you can be a diabetic and fly .... it's considered a "seizure disorder" in the FAR and must be controlled to the point that the issuing doctor does not feel it can/will interfere with your ability to safely fly the aircraft.

See FAR67.109(b).

Can you have Carpel Tunnel(sp?) and fly?

Nothing specific about CPS but if it's to the point that it will impair your ability to manipulate the controls, it may be an issue.

FYI, all these medical questions can be answered in Part 67 of your FAR/AIM. It's a good idea as a student pilot to get used to looking things up on your own. You'll remember it better and more importantly, will know where to find it if you're ever asked on a checkride.
