Questions about ACPP

Good evening, everyone:

Well, I met some one who went through ATP CFI program. After talking to him, I have few questions.

1. Is it true you fail checkride twice for same rating, you are out of program?
2. If ture for #1, what are percentage of students flunk out the program?
3. How many hours you fly a day in the plane and sim? How many hour of ground school class you are expect to attend?
4. What makes students successful complete the program?

Thanks in advance for your time.

I haven't gone through the program but...

1.) From what I hear yes.. and you'd have to be woefully unprepared to fail a check twice.. If someone fails check twice, they should rethink their career choices.

2.) I haven't heard of many.. I've heard of alot of guys busting the first one but usually over something silly.. I heard of 2 people bust this weekend.. One guy didn't get the gear down at the right time and the other guy couldn't do a weight/balance or use a VFR plotter..

3.) Not sure.. Alot from what I hear... Also unsure, but I don't think there is a whole lot of ground school.. The ACPP is setup as a program not equipped to deal with remedial training.

4.) You do..

you are NOT booted from the program if you fail a checkride twice. i know people who have done this. you will however probably recieve a phone call from the VP and have to explain what's going on. after three times, your more than likely out but not always. on the other hand if you fail more than one checkride twice, they may boot you but i don't know. i don't believe there is a set policy on this. it's more of a case by case basis.

Officially if you fail the same checkride twice you're out, but as Hollywood said there's much more to it than that. Before you are signed off for the recheck you are thoroughly trained in the area that caused you to fail the first time, so a second failure is rare. Sometimes we do stupid things on checkrides, and the examiner knows that, but they have to see you do it right, and thus the recheck.

I think the best idea would be to make sure your prepared for the Checkride..

I would think they would want to work with you as much as possible since students that are "kicked out" tend to not continue paying for the rest of the program.
