I am finishing my BS in Aerospace Eng. and I am planning on going to Utah state University or San Jose state for a second BS in aviation technology now my question is if I end up in San Jose that does not have an agreement with some airlines such as Skywest and American Eagle will I still be able to apply on my own and do an internship in their companies?
All comments are appreciated!!

Yes you can.

I know a few people that have set up internships at Skywest that have had no connections or "agreements" through their universities. It can be done on your own. Talk to the HR deptartments at those airlines. I'm sure it will take some persistence...just don't nag too much! :nana2:

It can certainly be done. It is how I got where I am today. We only had three internships available when I was in college: American, United, and TWA. Obviously TWA went kaput, and United put theirs on hold for a while after 9/11. I chose a different route, and got really lucky. You just need to start banging down doors and getting in touch with the right people. I personally think if an airline sees you making the effort, they will give you consideration.
