The RM Chart Specialist in the Revision team creates and revises navigational charts for airline use. This is done with the help of IT tools and databases. He selects the optimal chart frame and assures good readability besides having the latest AIP sources as well as all specifications from our product development. The Chart Specialist is dependent on other departments like FMS (Navigational Data), Product Development or AIS (source preparation), he shall maintain a feedback loop. The Chart Specialist is responsible for a correct and well layouted chart. In a follow-up work step a 2nd person performs a Quality-check regarding safety relevant items and will feedback to the Chart Specialist which might result in a rework.
The Chart Specialist will be assigned work orders of his own, nevertheless he is working in a team and shall share his experiences and consult more experienced colleagues in case of questions or feedback.

Work activities:

  • Creating and revising of navigational charts
  • Finding all relevant additional state sources
  • Developing and maintaining awareness regarding flight safety context and chart
    quality
  • assessing own company`s product specifications and customer requirements
  • ensuring compliance with national and international standards and legislation
  • setting up and maintaining controls and documentation
  • ensuring correctness and completeness of all aeronautical data
  • initiating investigations on product modifications if required
  • liaising with customer service agents and product development to ensure the
  • execution of corrective actions and compliance with customers` specifications
Profile:

  • Completed training as dispatcher, air traffic controller or former pilot with experience in commercial aviation or a completed academic navigation degree
  • Safe handling of aeronautical data and publications
  • Good PC knowledge
  • Very good knowledge of written and spoken English, other languages such as German are of advantage
  • Sense of duty and quality
  • Ability to work conscientiously and independently
  • Ability to work in a team
  • high degree of flexibility, commitment and enthusiasm and a good ability to work
    under pressure
  • quick adjustment to unknown tasks
 
If this is the same job posted about a couple of years ago, I wanna say it's in Switzerland. Back then, they were taking US guys, though. I missed out applying for it because I didn't see it until after the job posting closed. Even have experience flying with LIDOs.

Didn't mean to hijack the post at all. I would be interested in these jobs if they eventually led to an EU citizenship with a flying position at one of the german airlines (CityLine, Lufthansa.... SWISS...). Now THAT would be something to jump on!
