Open skies
is an international policy concept that calls for the liberalization of the rules and regulations of the international aviation industry—especially commercial aviation—in order to create a free-market environment for the airline industry. Its primary objectives are:
to liberalize the rules for international aviation markets and minimize government intervention as it applies to passenger, all-cargo, and combination air transportation as well as scheduled and charter services
burn baby burn!Open a US hub and offer a flow program. Piss DL/AA/UA off even more. More fuel for the fire.
You don't have a job worth saving?burn baby burn!
I haven't seen legacy pilot groups do diddly for the FFDs. I just about choked when I got the email from ALPA asking FFD pilots to help out the legacy carriers by writing our congress members. You don't have a job worth saving?

Never happen. No way any ME carrier will allow itself to be subjected to non Middle East labor laws.Open a US hub and offer a flow program. Piss DL/AA/UA off even more. More fuel for the fire.

Mainline pilots allowed the FFD carriers to spawn and grow, and got raked over the coals for it by low time pilots. Now, mainline pilots are trying to put the genie back in the bottle, and are getting raked over the coals by low time pilots for it.I haven't seen legacy pilot groups do diddly for the FFDs. They've held open houses for FFD carriers as well as online seminars to help FFD pilots get a leg up. Our very own @Seggy was fairly involved as well if I'm not mistaken. It may not be much, yet, but it's a start. Certainly more than diddly. I don't necessarily agree with everything ALPA does but protecting US jobs is certainly one I'm on board with.
Not to knock Skywest pilots or any Non Union Pilots, but ALPA Should be saying we must hire from Union pilots first. I know of no other Union job where you can get hired by a top tier company with out being Union first.
No, you gave up flying you deemed unworthy when you went to all jet fleets.Mainline pilots allowed the FFD carriers to spawn and grow, and got raked over the coals for it by low time pilots. If you went to them, they were a joke. It seemed more like ALPA was trying to save the regional s from voting them out then trying to get the FFD airline pilots a job.

Doesn't mean jack. It's like Wimpy saying I'll gladly pay you Tuesday for a hamburger today. Maybe it will come to pass, maybe it won't. Give me a seniority number and we'll talk. Until then tell me what's in it for me now, in the next 12 years of flying I have left. They've held open houses for FFD carriers as well as online seminars to help FFD pilots get a leg up.
