Purdue Jet

So ILL

Weightless
Has anyone yet heard about Embauer 100 jet Purdue supposedly got with a bunch of Cirrus single prop planes. Supposed to be the only non-military college where every student flies a jet. What does this mean to the rest of the flight school pipeline?

Unless you get a type rating out of it I dont see the benefit. I see it more as a promotional thing so they can say hey you will fly a jet here. I 'm not sure how it would help you though just logging a few dual hours in a jet in college when it comes to getting hired at a regional down the road.

It means nothing for the rest of the schools. A degree is a degree, an airplane is an airplane, and a rating or cert is the same everywhere in the U.S. A tired old C150 has as much weight in a logbook as a brand new SR20. Even with a type, 250 hrs of total time won't get you far....

Well new students don't know that. All they see is oooh jet. So Perdue will probably pick up some more SJS kids, and some more SJS kids will have a ton of doubt when they graduate.
