I have a friend that has some money to spend on a private jet. What kind of airplane do you think that he should get without spending too much money?

You can get a decent Lear 35 for under $3M. And maybe if you ask him nicely, you can fly it for him when US Airways tanks.

sounds like your friend is very wealthy...
i dont think hed mind what it is as long is has the comforts.
Is he a pilot?

What's his budget and use for it? If he's looking for single pilot and has plenty of money go with the CJ2 (the 525 not the 550). It was the best jet for flying 4 people to south FL from the Baltimore/Philly area. The guys compared it to the Citation V and the Premiere and found the CJ2 to be the best. That comparison didn't include the CJ3 though, because they wanted the jet by this summer. Now if he wants the cheapest thing possible look at Citation I's, Lear 23's, and Hawker 400's, just remember 2005 and RVSM is getting closer....

Check ASO, yeah? How about a 1954 Canadair CT-133 MK3?

Or maybe a 1971 Aero Vodochody L-29 C Delphin Jet?

His for only $52,000!

My vote is for the Javelin... check it out here. I think it is funny that they call this a "business" jet. Seems to me to be more of a scaled down F-18, however I bet it is much more pleasant to travel in this than any other "normal" biz jet.

No. Bad karma is trying to convince people that you're something you're not.
