***PUBNAT4***

I applied to PUBNAT2 but I am also going to apply to this one... good luck everyone... :)

AT-SAT in 3 weeks... :)

Awesome-thanks!

(I applied though hopefully I won't need it- but I missed the PUBNAT3, so I felt I had to be on top of it for this one...)

Went ahead and applied, even though I'm not sure if I should have multiple applications before my AT-SAT. :)

Thanks!

Multiple applications won't hurt you, but if don't pass the test then they are all null. If you fail the test you have to wait 1yr from test date before taking again.

It is good to have several applications. If you don't get selected for the first app you can possibly get selected for the next app. That is what I did. I've applied to PUBNAT1,2,3 and I will add 4 soon.

I submitted mine this morning.

OK so here's a question:

Is it better to have these submitted early? Does that look better? I'm wondering if I should revise it with flight hours or not up until the closing date. I don't know if that many revisions looks good or bad. Also, I don't know if it might look better to have it submitted on day 1 rather than have it revised & re-submitted on the last day but with 10 more flight hours tacked on.

Opinions?

They won't look at it until it's closed (and who knows how long after that...) so submitting today versus the last day makes no difference whatsoever.

I don't think it matters how many times you revise it, they will just look at whatever is submitted on the closing date... so keep updating your information if it changes because I really don't think it'll hurt you and may actually help in the end. If they didn't want you to be able to revise it, they wouldn't give you that option once you hit the "submit" button the first time.

If it's easier for you to come home after each lesson and update your hours, do that. If it's easier for you to just update at the end, do that. If the FAA sees your 10 hours up there, they really won't care either way how often you updated your application to put them there.

I would put plenty of thought into it. Take your time and carefully answer the questions truthfully. As long as it shows "Submitted" on your applications tab by the closing date you're good to go. Be sure if you make any changes to the application that you resubmit it.

Before I jump in to apply to this one too -- I've done PUBNAT3 so far -- has anyone actually heard from an authoritative source that submitting multiple applications will be helpful (and not harmful)? I know a lot of information bouncing around this forum is stuff that we've kind of pieced together, but if someone's been able to call in and hear it from the horse's mouth, so to speak, that'd be reassuring.

I asked the people in OKC their thoughts on this back in March after I had already applied for PUBNAT1. She told me there would be another one coming out in April and to apply for it as well to keep your name circulating. So I did. However, I did not apply for PUBNAT3 since it specifically stated not to reapply if you had already applied for the earlier announcements. PUBNAT4 does not have the same instructions so I do plan on applying again for this one just in case.

Exactly what I was needing to hear, Ace. Thanks. That's helpful. Guess I'll be applying to this one as well, then.

:yeahthat:I did exactly the same. Hopefully i won't be needing #4 since i applied under#2. I will feel alot less pressure after July 9, AT-SAT date in Peachtree City. It looks as if some of the feb. applicants are already getting their TOL's is this correct?

They are receiving PEPC invitations which is almost as good as a TOL.

Rosstafari:

I second what Acey says... you have to apply to each announcement in order to continue to be considered. In short, if you aren't selected from the first announcement you applied to (in my case, 5/2) you won't be considered for the 5/30 or 6/30 unless you applied to them...

nathanw,

100% on the At-Sat, really? Does that mean you didn't miss anything like any other test, or is the At-Sat weighted differently, either way, congrats and very impressive.

I'm not sure how they score the thing. I am confident I got all the dial reading, math and angle questions right. The anagrams, not so sure about. I felt I missed quite a few on the scan but I was typing fast and paying attention to the range changes at the bottom.

Letter factory I made a few mistakes but I found a way to keep track of what was going on so I could answer the questions they ask. On the ATST I did really well. Got high efficiency ratings on all but one, exited/landed every plane. No major errors, had one get close to the wall but no crashes.

I used the "green book" to study with, or rather, the CD. Didn't read the book. And my instructor in CTI school emphasized "head math" for an entire term, in fact that's all we did in class, time/speed/distance calculations in our head, so that helped a lot.
