I don't know/can't say much. Hopefully there will be a bunch of educational stuff coming out about this sooner or later. Event was a few months ago.
 
This is the first time I have heard about this. What's the story? Was this a revenue flight with passengers in the back? Wow. I thought this was a prank.

Holy crap. It looks like the tips of all the last stage turbine blades melted and welded themselves to the engine casing. Looking forward to hearing what the hell happened that could have caused that! That's insane! :eek:
 
And...and they relit?!

The pics in this thread look pretty definitively like the turbine blades welded themselves to the casing... Then again, it looks like they all snapped radially about 1/3 of the way out. Maybe that first 1/3rd kept spinning and produced partial power? :D
