BAE Systems Palmdale, California:
  • Plan, direct, and control all aspects of BAE Systems Intelligence & Security (I&S) flight operations in accordance with company, government, and/or industry guidelines.
  • In this capacity assume roles, responsibilities, and authorities of the Head of Flying (HOF) for I&S under FAA and DCMA Instruction 8210.1c requirements.
  • Primarily responsible for safe and effective flight operations, as well as the leadership and direction of various program/project teams.
  • Subject matter expert for aerospace programs/projects, as well as primary instructor, evaluator and test pilot for BAE Systems, Inc.
  • Provide program management for complex aviation programs including providing direction to team members in an Integrated Process Team (IPT) environment.
  • Establish and manage schedules, plans and budgets consistent with corporate and financial objectives.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

Chief Pilot :
  • Develop and/or approve flight operations and aviation safety procedures.
  • Develop and/or approve required waivers or exception to procedures.
  • Develop and/or approve flight schedules.
  • Develop and/or approve flight profiles and flight test plans.
  • Supervise all flight operations personnel.
  • Conduct and/or approve aircrew and flight and ground training.
  • Approve aircrew hiring and termination including contractor aircrew.
  • Approve aircrew qualifications.
  • Approve non-aircrew personnel and passenger manifests.
  • Monitor aircrew currencies, qualifications, and proficiency.
  • Maintain required aircrew qualification and training records.
  • Conduct Company audits and support Government inspections.
  • Act as primary Contractor’s Requesting Official (CRO).
  • Monitor and supervise safety elements of flight operations.
  • Act as primary Aviation Safety Official (ASO). Chair aviation safety council and flight safety meetings.
  • Define and document aviation risk and risk mitigation plans.
  • Conduct aviation safety audits and inspections.
  • Develop and maintain mishap prevention and response plans.
  • Develop and maintain aviation safety programs.
  • Conduct applicable aviation safety training.
  • Coordinate aviation safety requirements with Government and/or BAE Systems safety specialists.
  • Attend Government and BAE Systems safety meetings and/or training.
  • Act as primary investigator for mishaps involving BAE Systems aircraft.
  • Act as BAE Systems POC in Government aircraft mishap investigations.

Program Manager :
  • Plan programs including major milestone requirements extending downward to finite detailed schedules in sufficient detail to effectively manage the complete life-cycle development of aerospace products and/or services.
  • Create, monitor, and update program plans in sufficient detail which define the required processes/activities of various functional groups to achieve customer-defined milestones/deliverables.
  • Spearhead initiation, organization, planning, execution and closeout of assigned programs.
  • Establish and maintain positive working relationships with customers.
  • Coordinate technical and program progress reviews.
  • Lead, manage, and motivate Integrated Product Teams (IPT).
  • Develop and ensure adherence to standard processes and procedures.
  • Review and evaluate technical and business aspects of customer requests for proposals and/or change requests.
  • Lead preparation of customer bid packages and internal appropriation requests.
  • Proactively manage project scope.
  • Monitor and control program costs.
  • Identify, track, manage, and assist in resolving program issues.
  • Identify, manage, and assist in mitigation of program risks.
  • Proactively disseminate information to stakeholders.
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities.
  • Actively participate in business development, tech marketing, and capture efforts.
