Printing Logbook Pro

ZapBrannigan

If it ain’t a Boeing, I’m not going. No choice.
I did a search and found several posts from around 2007 regarding printing logbook pro. I'm hoping that in the last 3 years folks have discovered better solutions for this issue. I would rather NOT spend $120+ for a binder and another $250 for professional printing of the logbook pro (plus another $100 for future updates?!!)

Has anyone done this recently and, if so, have you found a professional looking solution... that is a few hundred dollars LESS than what NC Software is asking?

Thanks in advance.

I printed my logbook on fancier than normal copy paper and took it to FedEx Kinkos and had them bind it for $3, looked nice. Course I can't add any more pages to it now, but $8 or so every time I have an interview is pretty cheap.

I print mine out of log ten pro on heavy pound paper and put them into plastic sleeves in a nice white binder, fine with that.

Could still use a nice quality binder solution. Will be about 270 pages printed so prefer 7 rings and probably 2"

Export it to a pdf, bring it to kinkos, they'll double side print and bind it for you.

:yeahthat:

Did that just a few days ago, cost like $26 bucks for the printing and putting into a spiral binding. Doesn't look too bad.

I second Kinkos. They even put a clear plastic cover on the front and a hard cardboard cover on the back. $15 and it looks great.

The only downside I can think of is having to do it again each time you want it up-to-date. With a binder you could just print the new pages and insert them.

Took the advice here and printed it on 28 pound paper, had it spiral bound with a clear acrylic cover and black plastic backing. Out the door at Staples for $29.

If you print to PDF, assuming you didn't change any past pages, just select to print (once PDF is made) the most recent pages. Everything previous should be the same. Ie if your logbook now has 100 pages in it, in 1 year it might have 125 pages, "Print to PDF" the entire thing then select to actually print (on paper) pages 101-125. Then slip them into your spiral bound logbook.
