Today I flew traffic watch from the right seat, and let me tell you, it's been a looooong time since I've done a right-seat landing. I'm glad my reporter is (or at least says he is) cool about it. :D

I shot a few approaches from the right seat yesterday. Only one landing, though. Tower kept giving me "low approach only". It has been 6 months since I flew last, and I was pretty rusty. It did feel weird from the right side. One more flight and I will be back in the saddle again!

It is uncomfortable now, but you will get very comfortable with it in just a few hours. Soon you will find yourself flying pipers from the right seat because getting in a scooting to the left seat isn't worth it. :)

Good to hear, because I felt like I did when I was doing those post-private cross-country-for-the-helluvit trips. Except I could talk on the radio without sweating :)

Yeah, I would do that in our Cherokee and Apache, except they have no brakes on the right side. That could suck if I had not checked.:cwm27:

Is it really that different? I have never tried to fly from the right seat but yeah, it would be much easier getting in and out of the Piper...:)

I don't know about you but I find it most awkward for the right side of my brain to tell my left hand to add or take away power on final. It's always too much or not enough.

Yesterday I tried sitting in the seat backwards and looking over my shoulder the whole time... Na, just kid'n.

For me, the first few times flying from the right side, felt like learning to fly all over again. It'll pass.

I never found flying in the right seat to be much different from the left.

I go back and forth all the time.

Maybe if you didn't suck so bad Mark.:D
