Ok, here's the update, we're back online, now we've got a few more days of data back up to the 13th, but any posts after that including users who registered between the 12th and the 18th are gone.

If you registered between the 13th and the 18th, you NEED TO RE-REGISTER, SORRY! :(

For those that didn't see the previous post before the database corrections, the server took a dump on us on sunday night :(

Long story short, everything between the 13th and today is unrecoverable and I absolutely apologize for the down time (and the last reset I made to get a little more data recovered).

And the past 48 hours has been a nightmare. If you think i'm loopy when I'm well-rested, I'm uber loopy now after about three hours of sleep.

I appreciate your continued support of the website, I thoroughly apologize for the downtime of the server and lost data, but we're going to look for a more reliable web host --->stat<---

tell me bout it, i'm exhausted mang!!! Pilotfamilies was able to retain data up until the 15th.. but any new posts and/or registrations from the 15th till now are GONE...

So if anyone registered over there during those days, you'll have to do the same thing and re-register...we are SO sorry this happened...that's twice now, if not 3 times, that we've been burned and some changes are going to be made to make sure something like this does NOT happen again. :)

had to be a crappy server, HD and backup storage server or something.. it all just crashed at the same time...we'd only been on the thing for a year and the techs said something about a bunch of disk errors and backup corruptions...it's just horrid to go thru...we thought we'd be losing much more than a few days because it almost seemed like they couldn't retrieve any of our files for a while...scary few days!!
 
Nah, thank YOU for not defecting to another aviation website.

I've got to rebuild my users trust in the reliability of the website. Two crashes in a single week is unacceptable and glad we're on new hardware....

:yeahthat: I must admit, I was surfing other aviation websites, and was glad that there is a forum out in cyberspace where people are willing to learn, and act like a family.:) Jetcareers really is a family.

As everyone else as already mentioned, it is allllll gooood! We know these types of things happen and it did. As a aviation family here at jetcareers, I believe that we will still stick togather 100% till the end, and since this is not the end, this is why we're still here!!!:) Families go through good and bad times and this was a bad time but you know what it happens. So no need to worry, I still got both of your backs because I know the both of you would still always have mine, and I'm also sure I speak for if not all, most of us here at jetcareers! Merry Christmas and have a happy newyear!

:yeahthat: Ditto!! This is a FREE site (Without force feed advertising, I might add). Anyone that feels they are owed an apology is a bit out of line. How often do you get websites, or online service in which you pay for, in one way or another (ISPs, Banks, Movie rental clubs, ect) go down? How often do they offer apologies?

I know I have never gotten one. You're lucky if you get an explanation.

Another aviation website? Oddly enough I was doing some hunting around during the downtime a came across another site of the same variety.

I couldn’t believe it, you were required to pay a registration fee to join the board, or to even read a post!! My jaw dropped when I saw that!

Naturally I didn’t join, but I wonder if the forum is also cluttered with ads as well? Somehow I suspect so!

I think enough people have seen what is out there, and will remain on JC regardless!
 
FI is insane with ads!! I was never able to see them until my firewall thinger failed and had to shut down and it looked like a damn haunted house with all the ads flashing at me. 737 Type rating. CRJ JET JOB. INTERVIEW PREP. etc etc.

JC rocks.

Well, I was withholding names to protect the innocent, but….

As far as ads go, I don’t imagine that the actual board is different from the screen where they request you to surrender your money for the privilege of viewing it (or the ads!)

If that is the case then I figure you are correct. Ads on 3 out of 4 sides of the screen!!! I think that rivals many porn sites!!! (Not that I have ever visited one

I just wonder, why does FI have SO many sponsors?? I mean it clearly looks like a "Sell your soul" forum, but everyone and their brother has an ad there? I don't get it?

Well, look at it this way...it "appears" I have caught up on my JC, since some stuff is gone....so in a way, it helped me to not go through so much stuff to catch up!!!;)
