100 years ago, when I was just a boy, I was at a dispatcher conference in MIA and they told us they were going to finally plain text the damn NOTAMs... and they never did. Until maybe now? Maybe? Please God! this will almost make up for Harambe.

Its a start but unfortunately the FAA would most likely kick it down the road for years and years during their taskforce.

Specifically, this legislation would establish a Federal Aviation Association (FAA) taskforce to determine what improvements should be made to the Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) system

But who knows maybe another Air Canada will spur change.

However the ICAO system is nice sometimes when it spits out a full worded NOTAM.

I emailed both of my Senators, probably won’t read it but why the hell not? It’s like betting a $5 on a derby superfecta, small chance of winning but that upside…

But what about all those poor people with teletypes? They'll go through SOOO much paper, and the wires will be SOOO clogged with data.

NOTAM system will be improved/fixed roughly the time where spaceflight will be the defacto standard of transport.
