Fort Worth paper is saying 5 fatal out of 7 total and it was on a second leg.
------------
A plane that crashed Thursday morning in Ruidoso, N.M., killing five people and injuring two teenagers, had departed from Cleburne, officials said Thursday afternoon.
"The plane came in. It stopped. We did not service the plane," Cleburne city spokesman Charlie Hodges said. "It came in from Granbury. Some people got on, and it took off again."
Hodges said he was still determining precisely when the plane departed Cleburne.
The plane, a twin-engine Cessna 310, is registered to Rod Aviation in Granbury.
"The pilot got a weather briefing yesterday for conditions between Cleburne and Ruidoso," FAA spokesman Lynn Lunsford said. "The plane apparently crashed on landing at Sierra Blanca, there at Ruidoso. There were
seven people on board, including five fatalities. At this point it looks like the two survivors were teenagers who were airlifted to El Paso."
It's too early to determine what factors preceded the crash, about 130 miles south of Albuquerque, but weather wasn't immediately thought to be a major issue, officials said.
Emergency workers in the Ruidoso area were notified of an aircraft going down about 10 a.m. Mountain time. Sources told police the plane apparently missed the runway.
Local firefighters put out a small forest fire after the crash.
