Hi All,
I've decided to move up to a bigger twin, so I'm looking to sell my current one.
I'm a no-• kind of guy so I'll give you the straight info. The asking price I'll be putting on her on trade-a-plane and controller is $33k, my minimum fixed price is $28k.
She's currently undergoing annual, and I'm not expecting any real squawks -- I've replaced, overhauled, and repaired quite a few things the last couple years. =)
Students looking to go Airline may be particularly interested in this offer -- for the purpose of building time in a multi, I've leaned her out at 5500' to shaking and then enrich until smooth, at 21"/2100rpm she'll burn right about 10.5gph total (just over 5 per side). That gets an airspeed of about 110kts. So it's excellent for pure time-building.
The Apache is extremely docile for a twin, and I've taken her to full break stalls many times in practice.
Let's say you buy this twin right after annual, hammer out all the hours you need/want, and then sell her "quick" assuming a loss of 10% off of your purchase price to get her out the door. Here's a real-world look at owning this twin:
Purchase/Loss difference if sold before next annual: $2,700
Insurance (assuming you're instrument rated and take liability): ~$1,400? My most recent insurance was quoted at $780 for liability, but I already have my hours in type. =)
Fly 100hrs at $6/gal: $6,300
One moderate "ahhh wtf" maintenance item: $1,000
100hrs worth of oil will be about ... 14qts or so, so $84
So assuming this 100hrs multi will cost: $11,484
So that's $115/hr
Lets say you double down with someone else, split the cost and make it $60/hr.
One of the cheapest twin rentals I've seen is $240/hr, average seems to be closer to $300.
PM me for logs or more details for anyone interested.
