Job Description
Provide air transportation for University Officers, Coaches and guests. Act as Aircraft Captain of the University aircraft ensuring safe travel to meetings, fund raisers, recruiting trips, alumni gatherings, off-site exercises, etc. Monitor, update and revise University Flight Safety and Security Programs and flight publications.
Specific duties include the following:
- Pilot - Acting as Aircraft Captain of University airplane on flights throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean islands. Attending recurrent simulator training, maintaining aircraft systems proficiency, monitoring industry publications and periodicals and representing the University, interacting with University Officers, Coaches, Trustees, airport and aircraft service personnel.
- Department Safety Officer- Overseeing, updating and implementing Aviation Department Flight Safety Program.
- Department Publications Officer - Maintaining Aviation Department publications and aircraft navigation database, ensuring currency and availability.
- Department Security Officer - Developing and maintaining Aviation Department personnel and aircraft security program.
Minimum Qualifications Bachelor Degree required. Must possess at least 7 or more years of previous experience.
Should have experience in managing aviation safety and security programs. 2500 hours of previous flying time.
Must possess the following:
- FAA Airline Transport Pilot Rating
- First Class Airman's Medical Certificate
- FAA Instrument Rating
