Pilot Share The Ride?

Thoughts? Opinions? Is this a affordable way to time build to the magic 250? I signed up already and contacted two guys who want to timebuild in a multi. It's hella cheap too.

I signed up back in 2005 when it was free. I never was able to put anything together but I had a guy contact me about flying in his Baron from BOS-TEB once a week. I never could put it together timing wise though so it never happened.

Negative, all you can log is total time and PIC time for the portion of the flight when the pilot flying is under the hood.
... but only if you (the safety pilot) is also acting as PIC on the flight. That may not be feasible for either legal (currency, endorsements, etc) or practical (if the other pilot owns the plane, he may not want you to be in command; if a rental, the FBO may have a rule that only its members may act as PIC). But at least in that case, you can still log the total time and SIC time.

OTOH, unfortunately correct on the cross country: No cross country time for safety pilots:

And, of course, if the other pilot has you do the flight, including takeoff and landing, you can log it all as both PIC and cross country.

(I'm assuming you have the appropriate aircraft ratings)

Same here. Signed up but nothing ever developed from it. Signed up on another site with similar purpose but nothing developed from it either. Aviation is relatively quiet here in my part of S.C.

Or maybe I smell bad :dunno: .....

If I remember correctly, they don't tell you when someone signs up for fills out a profile. There are folks who have ads on there looking to split time from like four years ago.
