So, SteveC, what did I do wrong on my Spock/E6B thread? Anyone care to post a tutorial to the new picture inserting function?

To be honest, I'm not sure. I clicked on the link that you provided, then put that address inside of [ IMG ] tags. That was just a work-around though.

I've tried to attach and post pictures like we used to and it hasn't worked for me either. I just haven't had time to play with it and figure out the proper technique yet. I suspect that there is something on the backend that Doug could tweak, but until I've done some more investigating I've got no real guidance to give him (or you). I'm on a trip for a couple of days...don't know if I'll have time to play around with it or not. Maybe as we all try attaching and displaying images we could give feedback here about what we tried to do, what the result was.

:dunno:

Still trying to figure out what's the deal with the image tags, stand by.

Insert from a URL? Remove the check from the box.

Frank, instead of posting images can you put up the code that you're using? For example, post #9 where you say "Insert from a local PC?", the code that I see there is:

[ IMG ]http://i54.tinypic.com/13zu7ue.jpg[/ IMG ] (with spaces added inside the image tags for clarity).

That looks like you are linked to an outside image, not inserted or attached here on the site. But I'm easily confused. :dunno:

edit to add: can you walk me through it step by step?

Looks like you're still "trying to figure out", eh?

Alright smartypants!

On the original topic, give it another shot and see if it works for you now. I tinkered around with some settings, tested it and it seems to work just spanky... at least over here and you know how those things go.
