Thanks to Nick for giving me directions to where I could get some shots of the big birds at Philly. I headed out there today and 27L/R were in use. Got some nice shots, got some not so nice shots. Certainly harder than it looks to get great images, but I'll share a couple of my favorites. I submitted a few to Airliners.net, hopefully a they will get accepted. I'm going to upgrade my lens once I start making some money as a pilot..if thats possible. :)

No, there were a bunch of people parked all along hog island road fishing the river. I just pulled off on the side in a few areas where I could get better positioning. I think on day when they're landing 9R would be the best though. I found a spot right underneath that approach path. But your directions were awesome man, thanks a lot!
 
Damn those are some clear pictures. They are very Anet worthy. Let us know when they put them up.

Thanks. We'll see if they make the cut! Of course these ones posted here are downsized, but the full size images are pretty good. A little distortion on some of the plane's lettering, kind of like aliasing I believe. The hardest one to shoot was the U.S. Airways express plane, the one pictured below. I have many many shots of these small jets, but I had the hardest time getting the camera to properly expose the white without distorting the letter detail. As you can see, it kind of came as a compromise. And just when I thought I had the exposure correct, the sun decided to sit behind the clouds. Go figure.

You were at Philly, should have called me up, IM a half hour away and havnt spotted there much. PM me next time you go, if you want. Non the less, great pictures!
