Phillipines Airlines

Is hiring pilots with 500TT and only a multi comm. They put you as FO in a737 or somewhat equivalent size aircraft. Kinda crazy.

But you have to become a Phillipines citizen and probably sign a contract for a year or two.

Question is, any of you consider flying out of the country for a gig like this?

And how easily could you go to a major airline in the states from a gig like this and is the time looged in the aircraft there good by FAA standards and for airline in the US?

Thanks!

Copa (Panama) was hiring folks with 250 total time and multi-commercial. They put you as FO in either in the 73's or the E-190 jets. A pilot for a major in the US suggested that I work there (I have hispanic background) to "build" time once I finished the Multi-Comm.

There are plenty of Filipino pilots flying at Cebu Pacific (Airbus 320) and other smaller airlines who would love to work at Philippine Airlines... I doubt they're really hiring multi-coms.

They hire you as a second officer, not FO......it would take a while to upgrade to FO .

SO on a 737?!? What do you do, ride the jumpseat for a year?:D

SO is for wide body planes like A340 or 747-400 wherein an SO is very handy due to transpacific flights...then you upgrade to an A320 FO . The only Boeing aircraft they have now is the 747-400, the rest are airbuses. They do have 6 orders of 777 but it would be a while before they get them.
