Crew room banter today about a comment made by Phil Trenary yesterday regarding pay. Its at about 64:00 into the archive.

Senator (I believe Sen Johanns): "Mr Trenary what is the starting salary for a first officer in your airline?"

Phil Trenary: " The low 20s, that will go up significantly in about the next 60 days, and by significantly approximately 20%."

Is he talking about 9Es TA? If so how can he comment on something not signed? And I am doubting they are just going to raise pay at two airlines that are in negotiations and are about to be in negotiations.

In other words enough to supersize their happy meals.

20% of nothing is still nothing.

I still don't know how PNCL functions....No contract for years yet planes seem to go huh?

Yeah, my problem is I have to much pride in my job. Since they got a procedure approved to DMI nav light covers, I lost that route. Can't ground planes for that anymore. Rampers are actually getting working headsets. Can't use that one anymore, either. They're slowly taking away all the things I used to have us delayed. I COULD make up stuff, but then I'd still have to sleep at night. If I could do that and still sleep, I'd be in management.

Missing placards.

Fadded paint on Emergency locations on the exterior of the craft.

I would tend to say that you should try to avoid biting the hand that feeds you, though in all fairness there's probably a missing sarcasm tag.

I would normally agree, but maybe it is case of a hungry dog biting the hand that doesn't feed it very much. The pay is this industry is a joke. So jokes about it, I would say are pretty appropriate.

They abuse us, beat us, give us 1/2 a meal a day when we require 3. Yet they don't have a leash around our neck. In fact they leave the gate open, and any time you want to leave and go find another hand to give you the things you need to survive, your more than welcome to do so.

Just following the written law of the land. . .

Federal Aviation Regulations and the appropriate type certificate for the aircraft.

You know all about that right?

Besides, the reality is it's not a dog/master relationship. You treat your employees like crap it is a calculated risk. One which Pinnacle/Colgan have always done the math on and are completely satisfied with the results. They know you will act up, it's a cost of doing business.

Also, I'd point out honestly, you aren't anyone's dog.

It isn't like Phildo or the rest of the CJC stooges have been telling the truth to the NTSB, Congress or anyone else for that matter. It's all BS and hot air
