Personal Defense/EDC gear for Airline Pilots?

I'm curious about what people who are of the mindset to carry personal defense/EDC gear do given the limitations on carrying firearms/blades as an airline pilot.

I'm starting my airline career in a few weeks and am looking for a system that I can take on the road with me that will be both TSA compliant and national/state/local law compliant.

One implement that I can think of that should be no problem is a small tactical flashlight. I'd also like to carry a folding training karambit in my carry-on (see pic)to have on me when out on overnights, but I'm guessing the TSA would not like it, even though it is a flat dull unsharpened blade.

Thoughts?

Also, this is not a thread to discuss your political beliefs about the choice of carrying personal defense gear. I'm not here to judge you on whether you choose to do so or not, so please show the same courtesy.

It is likely that anything like that will get you in pretty big trouble with TSA. I have had them confiscate my "large" tube of toothpaste, while I was in uniform, with a valid crew ID, going to an airplane that I would be flying.

I've only felt unsafe twice once outside my place in Honolulu in the wee hours going to work and in the Super 8 in Goleta as a guy was bashing in my door at 3 am thinking he couldn't get into his room.

What use is that thing if it doesn't have a sharpened blade? Just go spend a week in New Mexico for the sky cowboy course

Fellas, just to be clear, I'm not suggesting that I would ever do something that would be against law or company policy (as stated in my original post).

Further, I'm not an intimidating person either in stature or demeanor, and I'm also not opposed to a person utilizing a defensive tool to help out in an unlikely scenario, thus my question.

If you have no interest in the topic, that's totally fine.

It is still useful as an impact device/pressure point control. All steel construction.

Also, not interested in the FFDO program.
