PEPC Locations

This is a thread for discussing the locations of upcoming PEPC's. Basically, just list the location and dates of any PEPC's you are aware of. My understaning is that LAX is in June. Any others?

Hmm...my panel meets in 2 weeks. Hopefully I'll get the chance to attend Chicago, but looks like I better plan to go to LA.

I haven't heard of any planned on the east coast. However, I have heard that Seattle, Memphis, and Denver were in the works. No mention of dates, just that they were in the works. Although, if I were to guess I would say we may seem them in July, Aug, and Sept as they seem to be running 3-4 weeks apart.

Does anyone know if the Los Angeles PEPC will be held at LAX or ZLA? I know the ATSAT was offered at LAX, but the PEPCs seem to be held at ARTCCs. ZLA is way the heck out there....

The Atlanta PEPC was at the TRACON in Peachtree, and the Ft. Worth PEPC next week is at the Southwest Region HQ, not the ARTCC.

I don't know if there is any standard PEPC location, but it always seems to be a good sized FAA facility. The LA PEPC could be at LAX, or at the Western-Pacific Region HQ in Hawthorne. I wouldn't expect them to have it at the ARTCC in Palmdale.

LAX or Hawthorne would be great.

What does bump mean??? Speed bump? I'm curious if you have heard if 2008 applicants will be considered for any of the May panels. When I called OKC a week or so ago they told me July panels would be meeting for the Feb. 2008 applicants. Although a couple of days before that I sent an e-mail and the response said that the panels would be meeting in June. Just curious.

I called this morning and was told no. Feb applicants will not be considered for this week's panels because Aviation Careers doesn't have everyone's geographic preferences. I asked when the Feb announcement's hiring panels would be held and she said it hadn't been determined. If they're in June, that'd be great. July seems to be the most common answer though. That's why I wondered if anyone knew where the July/August PEPC's would be. I was hoping to maybe make the LA PEPC in June, but since we aren't being considered for this month's panels, that's going to be a wash. I'm hoping since they made it to the west coast though, the next PEPCs will be a little closer to me here in OK. I heard rumors of a Denver PEPC. That'd be nice.

I'm not sure the head knows what the tail is doing over there, though.

Email I received today.

Congratulations. You have been chosen for further consideration for an Air Traffic Control Specialist (ATCS) position in the state of .

We are scheduling ATCS Pre-Employment Processing Centers (PEPCs) over the next few months in several locations. PEPCs are a new expedited method of processing and will include your interview, a security screening, medical evaluation, psychological evaluation, and drug test. In addition, if you are tentatively selected, you will receive a Tentative Offer Letter providing specific information on your facility assignment, salary, etc. All of these activities will take place during one day. This is an all-day event.

PEPCs are planned for the following cities during the weeks indicated.

· June 16 – June 20 Los Angeles, CA
· July 7 – July 11 New York City, NY
· July 21 – July 25 Memphis, TN

No specific locations have been identified and the dates could change slightly, depending on demand and facility availability.

We cannot process everyone at the PEPCs that we are contacting. We will put you on a waiting list, in the order responses are received, and keep you informed of details as they become available. We will accept only as many people as we can accommodate for each PEPC. Others will be processed in the “non-PEPC process” (see below). We will give you feedback on your individual situation.

You are being contacted even if the address we have is not near one of the PEPC locations since you may have relocated. If you do not live near one of the scheduled PEPCs, you are welcome to travel to one if that is what you would like to do. However, all travel costs incurred will be at your own expense.

You may elect to continue with the non-PEPC process. If so, we will schedule you to interview at a location near where you live. If you successfully complete the interview and are recommended, the Aviation Careers Division will provide you with the information required to schedule the remaining pre-employment processing steps.

Please be advised that this may not be faster than waiting until a PEPC is scheduled near you. Also, employment offers are made based on available class schedules. Classes are normally filled several months in advance. Once you have completed your pre-employment processing, either through the PEPC or the non-PEPC process, you will be considered for available classes.

This is what you need to do:

1. Respond to this email and let us know if you are still interested in the position identified in the first paragraph.
2. Tell us if you would like to attend one of the PEPCs and, if so, which one. Please choose only one.
3. OR, tell us you would like to be interviewed near your home.
4. Check the contact information listed above (address, phone number, email address) and provide any corrections.

Once you respond, we will either schedule you for an interview near your home or put you on our waiting list to be advised when the PEPC you identify is ready to schedule appointments. At that time, you will receive detailed information and forms to complete prior to your arrival. We will also communicate any updates as necessary.

Remember, the earlier you respond to this message, the better opportunity you will have to attend a PEPC. Please respond by email no later than June 4, 200

I applied before the Feb 08 announcement for several states. I selected Denver and Phoenix for my two preferences but then last week received an email to pick between SFO San Fran and SNA Costa Mesa. I chose SNA and will be glad to not have to deal with another MN winter if all works out.
:rawk:

I got an invite to a PEPC today for California. I applied last summer for California but really want to be in Houston now so I turned it down. I too did not want to have to make it through another MN winter but hopefully Houston will offer something too.

This makes no sense. Please share any info you may have. I live in Memphis, TN and applied to announcement AAC-AMH-07-PUBTN-06081 in July of 2007. After months of hearing no word I finally got to take the AT-SAT in Feb of this year (Well Qualified). Now the referral list status reads.

"Referral list FA-AAC-08-11836: Issued on 03/31/2008 for the Memphis, Tennessee duty location at the FG-1 grade/payband.
Your application is among those being reviewed by the office with announcement # AAC-AMH-07-PUBTN-06081. You may or may not be contacted for an interview. Please continue to check back for status updates."

I also applied to the national openings (AAC-AMH-08-PUBNAT1-08232, AAC-AMH-08-PUBNAT2-09140). I submitted the top 2 geographical preferences a couple of weeks ago, and the referral list status for those announcements still read:

No Referral Lists have been created for Announcement # AAC-AMH-08-PUBNAT1-08232

According to this thread, nationals are already being invited to the Memphis PEPC, and being told that they won't have the capacity to process everyone.

My questions are: When the hell will the Memphis applicants be notified if they are going to be selected for an interview? Will it be at the Memphis PEPC? Why does my national referral list status say it hasn't been generated when I'm seeing tons of people on here who applied in February being given OKC training dates? What is the order that they are selecting candidates, and for that matter processing the different job openings? Is it according to their geographical preference?

I realize we're dealing with the federal government which reserves the right to operate with no rhyme or reason, BUT if you happen to have a clue on this, PLEASE share the light. Confusion is like an ingrown toenail to me.:bandit:

No one from the Feb 2008 announcement has been given a PEPC date, let alone an OKC date, that I know of UNLESS they applied to the state-by-state listings last summer. If they're going to OKC already, it's because of one of those announcements, not the fact they applied to the Feb 2008 announcement.
