Good god!.. i cleared my Multi-engine checkride today!.. after a 1.5 hr flight tat was preceeded by a 0.7 hr oral during the preflight!
The examiner tested me on every single thing!.. he asked me a couple of "whats behind this" kinda questions. i flew the BE-76. so he asked me a question abt the nose compartment- wats behind a circular-panel on the left of the nose?.. brake fluid reservoir!.hmmm.. i had no clue!..hahaha.. and another one at teh tail tat kinda looked like a triangular panel, tat was for ELT access.hmmmm...
he asked me everything abt every part during the preflight.. and the day couldnt be any weirder!.. we had hazy conditions, the clouds were reported at 6000 broken and 4400 few. HAH!.. by the time we got to 3700 we had scattered clouds already!.. but they were spaced out a lil bit.. so we had large enough breaks in teh clouds to do the manuevers.
we did the whole thing, slow flight- turn to headings, descents and all tat good stuff. then stalls, on and off. the steep turns. then this examiner liked to simulate engine failure on take off, so we chose the deck as 3500, and simulated a take off, and he covered up the mixtures and failed an engine.. so wat do i do/?.. the procedures, rudder for directional control, pitch down and into the live engine.. to maintain 85. he is VERY particular abt that.. holding the airspeed right at 85. and i thinki did a decent job at holdin it there. he liked it.
then we did emergency descent and followed it by a "simulated" go-around, deck 2500. good stuff. after tat we headed back to KFPR, and did 3 t/o and lndgs, normal, short field and single engine. all went good, they were a lil hard on the touch down.. but pretty good, right on the mark with the short field, and good centerline tracking.. with winds 150@15G22, i thinki did a good job.. landing on 14.
all in all, the checkride was long and tiring to be frank.. but i felt none of it whn i heard tat i passed and i was like WOOOOO HOOOOOO!!!:nana2:hahahhaha!>. good stuff! especially with an examiner tat the students at the school avoid! hahahahahah.... im just gratefull i cleared it. now on to my instrument rating!.. clouds, cant wait to fly into them!
