Hey X-forces is JT still running the show at Pan Am? If he is, don't trust anything he says. He even tells your co-workers to lie on his behalf.
I worked at Pan Am DVT last year and they hired me for a permanent salaried job in the Korean Program. Low and Behold, as soon as my students finished up (old instructor went to Skywest) their commercial instrument multi course,--- Wam i am out of a job, ( about 3 -4 weeks) because they hired me full well knowing that no new students would be coming in the next group. I had just moved to Phoenix for this position.
Oh i was offered a lower paying position--pay per hour-- position teaching the Chinese, but couldn't make anywhere near the money to pay for the moving expenses, so i was out of there.
What a rip-off? to dangle a nice job out there and then replace
United Flyers1,
Wow! That was some first post. Anyway, welcome to JC.
Well, J. Tardi is indeed still the chief flight instructor here at PAIFA. As far as running the show, well, he is one of many of the administrative staff responsible for PAIFA’s day to day operations.
Jim is nether my best bud, nor my enemy, he is the chief flight instructor. As far as not trusting him, I reserve my own opinion. I have worked in PAIFA’s administration for several months now, and I have worked very closely with JT. He certainly has a way about him, however I have never found anything he has had to say to be without truth or merit.
Now before I say anything further I want to go on record as stating that I am not on an ass kissing or PAIFA banner waving campaign. No institution is perfect, and we are no different. However, to call J. Tardi dishonest as sort of a blanket statement is not on. I have had several issues since I began attending PAIFA, many of which were addressed by Tardi, and I can say that I have been pleased with the outcomes. I regret that you might have felt that you have been lied to, however the situation you described in your post sounds like something that could have happened to anyone, in any career field.
I am not trying to make light of it, but I am just pointing out that crappy things happen in the workplace all the time, to everyone, so I would not believe that you were a specific target.
Lastly, I usually refrain from doing this but as you provided such vivid details in your post about what has happened to you I thought I might follow up on it and ask some of the CFIs that had been around for a while if the could recall your situation, and what actually happened.
I will only go as far as to say that there was immediate recognition of the situation, and of you, by many people here both in administration (Not including Tardi) and CFIs, and unfortunately I must tell you that I couldn’t find a single person that had a complementary thing to say. The people I spoke with knew nothing about this post (Most don’t even know what JC is) but they all remember you, so suffice to say that I will take your comments with a grain of salt.
Personally I don’t know you and I don’t have anything against you, but as far as my interactions with staff members here I will take them at face value until I have reason to do otherwise.
