overtime

I was just curious....I know most regionals pay in the 28k-30k range. I was wondering if there is overtime available or if anyone works or has worked a part time job during the first year or two when money is tight. I bartend now so I thought that might be a good part time gig but I would rather work an extra shift now and then.

It just depends on the airline. Most carriers I have worked at do have OT available, but how much and how it is awarded depends on the carrier in question.

Yes, the airline I work at offers plenty of OT even while pilots are out on furlough.

Every airline eventually gets to this point, but hourly Dispatchers don't get guaranteed minimums each month regardless if they work or not like most pilots. Of course we typically do not get union representation and could be kicked out the next day as well so its give and take.
