Oh Ryanair

One hour-thirteen minutes of taxiing at the origin airport Pisa(!) where normal is five to ten minutes Typically airborne for two hours-twenty minutes, this flight was in the air for four hours-twenty minutes.

Based on the aircraft registration, this aircraft was with the Malta Air AOC, the second-largest group after the Irish-based Ryanair AOC. Malta: for when not even Ireland's favorable tax laws are good-enough for yo cheap ass.

We landed with 5.1 after two attempts then a divert in Texas this summer. That was as low as I personally want to see. Probably because I’m so wired to correlate the amount left equals minutes left(ish). To me, that seemed like we were 6 minutes away from landing below the 45 minutes rule, got me nervous, did not like it. All I could think about on final at our diversion was if we go around, things will get interesting. I love a good margin, ya know

Not sure your equipment, though I probably should. But 3.8 was lowest I recall in the bus. Conversation on short final was “I get a shot, you get a shot, after that…were landing…”

737. We were in a Max that day so I’m sure we had more time than that. But I personally like to see 6.0+ when the wheels touch down. That is the only time I’ve seen it below in the Max or NG. Even on a few Latin America diverts we had over 6 when we landed, granted those went smoothly after the decision to divert.

A very good wise ole captain gave me his mantra:
320ceo/neo = 5.0
321neo = 6.0
321ceo = 7.0

Anything less on landing, i become one of those really obnoxious FOs who coax a fuel load :/

If we had diverted after attempt 1, it would have not been an issue. But the weather was dynamic and the plane didn’t scream windshear so just like that pretty girl at the pier, I thought maybe we had a chance lol
We didn’t land at our destination and I didn’t get the girl. Figured as much

Same with us. Holding due to windshear (on a day with no alt filed since it was perfect vfr with no forecast of weird winds), then first approach to be pulled off due to runway swap for more windshear calls, then to find ourselves back on the original runway. Worked out fine enough but still a bit of a pucker

Mother Nature has her own plan, with little care of our ego and experience. So with that, she can humble even the most experienced very quickly lol
 
Yea im not sure I will ever, or frankly, ever want to be at the point, to play chicken with her. Just not worth it. Simply too easy to stack the deck in our favor.

I will never take a fair fight it I can help it ;)
