Oh God! Dont think you should hear that on landing!!!!

Ha! Reminds me of my landing in the MD-11 simulator. I not only hit hard like that but bounced!

:laff: ;)

:rotfl: Haha that reminds me, my girlfriend doesnt fly and did the same thing on the MD11 sim. 100, sink rate, 50, 30, 10, BOOOOOOOOOM, scared the heck out of her...she thought she broke something.....haha

Well the DC-10/MD-11 is a hard plane to land. No matter what Frog_Flyer might say :laff: . Why, because with slats deployed you get a 5 degree nose high attitude and it's hard as hell to see the horizon. So it's hard to judge landing distance and see the ground.

Hard...but not impossible!

That had to hurt. Probably compressed some spines. After I got my private, I had a chance to fly an E-3 sim. I bounced it off the nose wheel. :)

reminds me of when a Southwest 737 landed hard, the FA got on the intercom and said "Please remain seated while the captain taxis what's left of the plane to the gate"

Smoooth ... based on the timing of the callouts, they were doing about 1900 ft/min from 200 feet and manged to slow that to 1000 ft/min by touchdown. Watch yer speeds, people!
