OEF CV-22 crash

Yeah it sucks. It was one from Hurlburt. Tomorrow and Sunday is the Eglin Open House and they will have a CV-22 on display. I am sure the mood will be more somber than usual. RIP to all and prayers to the families.:(

This posting is one of the reasons I apprecieate JC. When ever I hear of something in aviation I always can come here and get good information. Initial rumor here was it was a helicopter shot down, and just heard around dinner that it was an Osprey. I wonder if it was the same one I saw flying around here yesterday.

RIP ...

An acquaintance of mine was onboard, this is a bummer. :( He made it through surgery though and is going to be sent home on leave.

Posted via Facebook,
"Chris broke his pelvis and lost a lot of blood. He is stable and it looks like he will be ok even though his recovery will be difficult. I have been told only one other survivor all other crew members have been killed."

Have they released the names of the civilians killed yet?

I ask because I have a friend who works with the GAO and routinely goes into places like this. Haven't heard from her in a while....

That does suck...sorry to hear it. In all honesty, I am surprised we haven't lost one before now. Very dangerous mission and an very irregular way to fly anything.

My thoughts to the family.

"He is officially in the air out of Afghan and on his way to Germany where they are going to reassess his condition. Dad will be flying out to Germany most likely tomorrow. The craft was carrying 4 crew members and 16 passengers. The 2 crew in the front and 2 passengers did not make it, Christofer was in back, 14 are injured. His vitals are good and heart is strong. Chris, we love you and you are in our prayers, hang in there." - Alisha Curtis

RIP to those lost...bound to happen I guess. On it's 5 deployment with Marines and not sure for AF.
