The B717 argument runs rampant over at A.Net but nobody can seem to offer very supportive arguments...does anybody here have anything contribute in terms of how feasible that would be?

Well, a 717 is nothing more than a DC-9 type rating, of which the pilots are already trained for and just need to undergo some differences training.

HOWEVER!

And I do mean however...

If they pick up a 318, they could combine the DC-9 and A320 categories into one group and capture a little efficiency that way.

But hey, I'm a Boeing man especially after seeing the workmanship that goes into each plane.

Actually a few of Northwest Airlines DC-9s are leased. I couldn't believe it a plane built in the 60's and its a lease. Talkin about trading that old thing in for a newer model!

I think the problem with the 717 getting rolling is a super abundance of MD-80's (or DC-9's) there is just no need for that airplane right now.

Just ask Airtran, the 717. Not only did Airtran replace all of their DC9's, they are actually
making a profit.

Northwest helped add to that over abundance of MD-80's sitting in the desert as they used to have them in there fleet.

....used to that is.

Well I'm 28 yrs. old so lets just say I have heard of him at the very least.

Grew up listening to New Edition and Dougie Fresh...it was the 80's man.

Oh yea no problem I'm used to it 28 yrs. old but could easily pass for 18 in fact I do alot.

I hear it all the time.

Just the other day at Fry's was buying alcohol and the cashier carded me and was like your 28, honey I thought you were 16 trying to sneak some beer.
