Now who\'s boss?

Did anyone else see this show last night on TLC? I caught it about half way through the program. It seemed to have a Delta Song "big wig" change jobs for a few days and work as an FA, ramp agent, lav agent, and maybe other jobs I had missed in the begining. I guess the idea of the show is to get the CEO types to understand the front line workers job. This guy did seem to develop a bit more respect for the front line worker.
On a side note, I didn't know Song charges for foor onboard the flight. This guy walked down the isles with the cart and a PDA thing for billing. I wonder how much money that idea is generating.

I worked as ramper at Skywest for a few months. Man oh man, let me tell you it was a tough job. Getting up at 3am for work!
Day after day we'd be short handed, and finally the station manager helped us out on the ramp one day. Ahahaha, after that he said no one should have to work under those conditions! He then proceeded to hire 8 new employees to help us out. 2 of them quite because they were too old to hack it, one retired, and I ended up leaving for the First Officer position with the airline. Beleive it or not, I miss working there, I don't miss the drives though. If that job was at a station closer to home, I'd still work there while awaiting my class date.

Don Carty did the same thing about 5 or 6 years ago, he worked out on the ramp in Dallas, I don't know if it was summer though.

That's why I work nights. Although, I only live about 5 minutes from the airport, I'm just not a morning person.

I'm trying to remember the last time I even SAW my station manager.

I do know what you mean about being short handed. On average, how many rampers did you guys have per flight/gate/whatever?

In most stations. For some reason, they run in fear from the bags here at MCO.....
