Not going to the 1900 after all

I mentioned in another thread that I would give my left nut for the Baron Roswell-Lubbock run, well thankfully I didn't have to. It was a hard choice between staying and going onto a multiengine turbine PIC type thing or being home everynight, well no it wasn't really that hard of a choice :)

With just over 2000 hours I have a Sept 27 class date at Baron. yay :p

You do realize that in a traditional configuration, the left nut is the "critical nut".

Congratulations is in order.... being home based is a bit better than having to move again.... although for me the B1900 would be pretty dang tempting... but long term I think you made the better choice... congrats again.

congradulations then! I love the look of the caravan. Theres a mountain air cargo one based out of Burke in cleveland that I see all the time. I would love his schedule.

I flew one of Baron's today and I felt like I might "fail" the interview ride just because of how much geewhiz stuff is in there. I felt like an old man assaulted by too much technology. They got a garmin 530 and a garmin MFD, and weird things. I literally pulled the knob off the garmin 530 when I tried to turn the radio on squelch mode (used to this functionality on the king radios.)

Finally I just ignored that part and focused on the HSI, which was the same. :p

Now that's excellence in design, my friend!

Us old guys are just equipped with the critical nut and the Q-switch doesn't work right so you can get it unfeathered when need be.

Same one I'm flying now. Caravan. However, I'll be making more money flying it than I would flying the 1900, and I get to live in the same city as my fiance.

Excellent Choice, I love the caravan. You get to be home, and better yet with those who matter most to you. Congratulations! Well done!

Well I guess you won't be getting that "free" workout from loading and unloading anymore.:D
