CaptChris- Sounds like you are on the right track. I have some experience flying into Wilgrove, and like all GA airports I go in, I try to find out what the general level of interest is, and who is flying what. My experience is that in terms of making a market for yourself as an instructor, its really good to have your CFI-I. In terms of the day to day work, I found it a much better working enviornment dealing with folks who are past the basics. As far as my story, I had some luck in getting about 650 hrs of King Air time in the Greensboro area flying for a couple businesses. Back to the race team issue. Many of the race teams are far less picky about insurance req's and time in type requirements. I got really lucky in this, which led to getting on with Midway flying 737-300's. Right place, right time. After 9/11 and Chapter 11, I was furloughed, and Midway went further off track. Right now I'm finishing up my undergrad at UNCW. From there I am applying to several law schools. I have also been accepted at ERAU for their Masters in Aeronautical Science program. Decisions.... decisions. Luckily, I still do some instrument instruction and flying in the Wilmington area. If there is any way I can help, let me know. When you get to Monroe email me and I'll put out some more feelers for multi-time.
