Nit-picking the website for "errors"...

Nit-picking the website for \"errors\"...

Being a perfectionist, I've come across two (obviously, nothing big at all).

1. http://www.jetcareers.com/trip3.htm the picture in the middle that says "America West 737 in Phoenix" is actually an Airbus A319/320 /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

2. http://www.jetcareers.com/training.htm the first picture of
the Delta Training Center "Outer view of Operations Center
II" cannot be viewed, because the link points to "My
Documents" folder. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Can anyone tell I'm a perfectionist? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/insane.gif Yes, it's sick!

Re: Nit-picking the website for \"errors\"...

Good finds - but about the 320/737 - most airline pilots would probably get that wrong.

Re: Nit-picking the website for \"errors\"...

Figure I'll chime in too...

The following pictures weren't completely uploaded or something:
Mvc-007s.jpg

Mvc-123f.jpg

The following links don't work:
Delta 737-300 in SLC
All the images from Somewhere west of Yuma, AZ on arrival into San Diego, CA to Ramp in San Diego
Looking toward the runway in San Diego
Baggage cart off to lose some luggage at SAN

These just link to the thumbail:
DSCN0771.jpg
DSCN0775.jpg
DSCN0776.jpg

This one is linked twice:
Mighty Mississippi River west of New Orleans, LA
Mississppi River west of New Orleans, LA

This one links to the full-size version of "More pictures of a Wyoming wildfire"

And these ones don't open in new windows:
The big "Welcome to Salt Lake 2002" sign
More pictures of a Wyoming wildfire
11,000' downwind at ATL
All of "Pictures AFTER December 2003."

I think that's everything... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Re: Nit-picking the website for \"errors\"...

I think the website is great, and I think we all owe doug, he has put in MANY MANY hours, and money into creating what we have today, THANK YOU DOUG! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

BTW Does anybody else find it very difficult to take criticism, no matter how much a person sugar coates it, I still hate it, but it is usually needed. (This has nothing to do with the earlier posts) /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Oh dont get me wrong, I give 200% credit to Doug for the website!

Re: Nit-picking the website for \"errors\"...

Same here, but I wouldn't call pointing out broken links and stuff criticism. I've done a bit of web design over the past five years and I know that it can be a royal PITA.

Re: Nit-picking the website for \"errors\"...

You guys need to get a life......I can't believe you took the time to find these extremely trivial errors.

Re: Nit-picking the website for \"errors\"...

I had noticed them a long time ago but just never said anything, but I remembered it after seeing this post, so I figured I'd go back and see which ones they were. Honestly I just did it to help Doug out, not to try and knock the site or anything... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bandit.gif

EDIT: Also, I wouldn't call broken links and incomplete image files "trivial." If you had a loose booger on your face, would you rather I say something about it, or just keep quiet so I don't annoy you?

Ok on what authority do you preach this gospel? a 13 year old could tell the difference between the two. (no offense Doug, I am sure there is a perfectly reasonable explanation for you mislabling(sp) it.

A 13 year old cares much more that there is a difference between a 737, and an A320. As far as most pilots are concerned if they get reported traffic as either a 737/A320 they just look for a short airplane with an engine under each wing, and bingo that is whatever the controller said. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Re: Nit-picking the website for \"errors\"...

Ehh, too lazy and having a few 'adult beverages', I'll put it on the 'to do list' for next week! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Re: Nit-picking the website for \"errors\"...

But Doug clear up one thing mate - do you think most pilots care that there is a difference between the 737/A320 - or as far as they are concerned they are both small airliners, with an engine under each wing.

Re: Nit-picking the website for \"errors\"...

If you took the winglets off of the A320, most captains would have no idea if it's a 737 or an Airbus.

Lets put it this way, most guys I fly with don't know the different between a 777 or a 767-400.

The last trip, I saw a Emb-170 and the captain said, "Hey, it's one of those 737's with winglets"

Re: Nit-picking the website for \"errors\"...

Yeah I am getting my Vegas mood on - these guys have no idea what it is like when E.N. rolls into town!!

Re: Nit-picking the website for \"errors\"...

The "English Guy" from "Go"? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Re: Nit-picking the website for \"errors\"...

Mate I think you were trying to type -

The "English Guy" from "GQ"

Drunk posting Doug - it causes errors!

Re: Nit-picking the website for \"errors\"...

No, "Go" bro! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
